In the early hours of a Tuesday morning in Harvey, Louisiana, the life of 20-year-old Stacy Johnson Jr. was tragically cut short. On April 7, 2015, Johnson was in the Woodmere subdivision when gunfire erupted, leaving him fatally wounded and a 19-year-old companion injured. The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office responded to reports of the shooting on Clover Lane, where they found Johnson.
The investigation into the double shooting led to the arrests of multiple suspects.
Within a week of the incident, authorities had taken suspects into custody. The case progressed, and a Jefferson Parish grand jury handed down indictments against two men, Jarrad Marshall and Anfranee Adams, in connection with the homicide.
Both Marshall and Adams faced serious charges for their alleged roles in the violent encounter that ended Johnson's life and wounded another. As the case moved through the legal system, Adams ultimately pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of manslaughter. For his involvement in the events of that tragic day, he was sentenced to serve 20 years in prison. Marshall was also convicted in the case, found guilty of manslaughter.
