On a tragic afternoon in Bogalusa, Louisiana, the quiet of City Limits Road was shattered by the discovery of a double homicide on June 23, 2015. Inside a car, authorities found the bodies of two men from the Baton Rouge area, both of whom had been fatally shot. One of the victims was identified as 31-year-old Shannen Hudson, an African American male who was known in the music community as the Gonzales rapper 'Young Ready.'
The other victim was 28-year-old Jare Stevenson.
The Washington Parish Coroner's Office later confirmed that Hudson had been shot multiple times, while Stevenson sustained a single gunshot wound. Investigators determined that both men had been shot in the back of the head. Police indicated that neither Hudson nor Stevenson were residents of Bogalusa and were unsure what had brought them to the area, though it was later reported they had been visiting friends in a local housing project just fifteen minutes before the shooting. The vehicle they were found in was a rental car.
