In the late hours of a Tuesday night in Baton Rouge, the life of 34-year-old Tyrone Dyer, a male, was tragically cut short. On March 15, 2016, Dyer was discovered deceased outside of his own home located in the 3800 block of Evangeline Street. The initial investigation by the Baton Rouge Police Department pointed towards a possible robbery attempt that had escalated into a fatal shooting.

A break in the case came when a suspect, Michael Demond Davis, who was 32 years old at the time, turned himself in to the police. Following his surrender, Davis was arrested and subsequently charged with first-degree murder in connection with the shooting death of Tyrone Dyer. Investigators believed the motive behind the killing was a robbery.
