In the afternoon of December 2, 2020, a shooting unfolded in Baton Rouge that claimed the life of 23-year-old Brandon Childs. The incident, which occurred around 3:20 p.m. in the 2800 block of Dougherty Drive, also left a male teenager with critical injuries. Both Childs and the juvenile were transported to a local hospital with apparent gunshot wounds, but Childs ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
