Lashuntae Benton, a 19-year-old African American woman, tragically lost her life on April 10, 2016, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She was a sophomore studying sports medicine at Southern University and A&M College. Lashuntae was attending a party at the Cottages Apartments, a popular student housing complex near Louisiana State University, when the incident occurred.
