In the spring of 2017, a retired defense attorney, James Short, a 74-year-old male, was found brutally murdered in his Austin, Texas home. The discovery on April 7th revealed a scene of violence; Mr. Short had been stabbed to death, and signs of a struggle were evident. A bloody knife was recovered from his bed, and a black backpack that did not belong to the victim was also found at the scene.
