In the winter of 2022, a burst of gunfire shattered the peace of a northwest Oklahoma City neighborhood, leaving a family grieving and a community searching for answers. On the evening of Wednesday, January 26, 2022, 43-year-old Dewon Thomas, a Black male, was found shot inside a residence in the 3100 block of North Dawson Avenue, near Northwest 30th Street and Portland Avenue.
