In a quiet Metairie neighborhood, the life of 68-year-old Linda Townsend came to a tragic end on a Sunday afternoon in September. On September 25, 2016, Jefferson Parish Sheriff's deputies were called to a home in the 4500 block of Transcontinental Drive for a welfare check, a routine call that would soon reveal a grim scene. Inside the residence, the authorities discovered the bodies of Linda and her 67-year-old husband, Larry Townsend, in what was determined to be a murder-suicide.
