Faycal Elhelou, a 62-year-old man from Prairie-Rhonde, Louisiana, tragically lost his life on September 25, 2016. Faycal, who was of Lebanese descent, was involved in a dispute over a boat that escalated into a fatal confrontation. The incident occurred on LA Highway 103, between Lawtell and Opelousas. During the altercation, both Faycal and another individual armed themselves, leading to Faycal being fatally shot with a shotgun.
