In the early morning hours of a late March day in New Orleans, a dispute turned deadly, claiming the life of 38-year-old Willie Lucas. The male victim was embroiled in a physical altercation with another man in the Pines Village area, a neighborhood in the city's east. According to the New Orleans Police Department, the woman produced
a firearm during the struggle and shot Lucas. In the immediate aftermath of the gunfire, both the man Lucas had been fighting and the female shooter fled the scene, disappearing into the pre-dawn hours.
