Asha Davis, a 29-year-old female, was tragically killed on New Year's Day in 2017 in her Baton Rouge, Louisiana home. The cause of her death was a fatal gunshot wound. The incident, which occurred on The Mohican Prescott Crossover, was determined to be the result of a domestic dispute.
Almost two months after the incident, Baton Rouge Police arrested 29-year-old Thailand Brooks in connection with her death. He was subsequently charged with second-degree murder.
The relationship between Davis and Brooks was described by her sister, Keisha Davis, as 'volatile' and 'very toxic.' According to her sister, Asha had been preparing to leave Brooks before she was killed.
Asha Davis was an employee in the dietary department at Ochsner Medical Center and was also a student at Our Lady of the Lake College. Her family expressed their grief over her loss and their hope for justice to be served.
