In the early hours of March 28, 2017, the life of 24-year-old Charzavious Rogers, a male resident of Shreveport, Louisiana, was tragically cut short. Just before 1:00 a.m., Shreveport Police were called to the Wilkinson Terrace apartments in the 2700 block of Southern Avenue following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, officers discovered Rogers suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body.
Emergency medical personnel from the Shreveport Fire Department were already
at the scene, working diligently to save his life. Rogers was rushed to University Health hospital, but despite the urgent medical attention, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after his arrival.
Initial investigations by the Shreveport Police Department suggested that Rogers was standing outside one of the apartment buildings when a series of gunshots were fired. He was then found lying on the ground. Investigators recovered multiple spent shell casings in the immediate vicinity, indicating that the assailant or assailants were in close proximity to Rogers when the shooting occurred.
In the wake of the fatal shooting, detectives began working to identify those responsible for the crime. Authorities urged anyone with information to come forward and contact Crime Stoppers, offering a reward for any tips that would lead to an arrest. Law enforcement has not publicly released information regarding any arrests or identified suspects in connection with the death of Charzavious Rogers.
