On the evening of Monday, October 14, 2024, tragedy struck in the St. Roch neighborhood of New Orleans. Robert Newsham, a 77-year-old male, was found inside a residence on the 2500 block of North Miro Street with at least one gunshot wound. The New Orleans Police Department responded to a call about the shooting, and upon their arrival, Emergency Medical Services pronounced him deceased at the scene.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under active investigation by NOPD
homicide detectives. At this time, authorities have not publicly identified any suspects or made any arrests in connection with the death of Mr. Newsham. The motive for the shooting has also not been released.
