On the evening of November 18, 2019, a burst of gunfire shattered the ordinary atmosphere of a Walmart parking lot in New Orleans East, forever altering the lives of one family. In the wake of the violence, 26-year-old David Quinn Price was found suffering from gunshot wounds in the 6000 block of Bullard Avenue around 9:00 p.m. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, but his injuries proved to be too severe.
The following day, November 19, 2019, David succumbed to his wounds, leaving behind a grieving family and a community searching for answers.
David, a graduate of Sarah T. Reed High School, was a loving father to three children: David Price Jr., Davin Taylor, and Winter Price. He was remembered by his mother, Sabrina Price Gardner, and his stepfather, Richard Gardner, as well as a large extended family of siblings, aunts, uncles, and cousins. His death left a void in the lives of those who knew and loved him, a pain compounded by the fact that the person or persons responsible for his killing have never been brought to justice.
Years have passed since that fatal night, yet the case of David Quinn Price's murder remains an open wound for his family and the city of New Orleans. Despite the ongoing investigation, no suspects have been publicly identified, and no arrests have been made in connection with his death.
