In the Gert Town neighborhood of New Orleans, on the afternoon of March 13, 2021, a burst of gunfire shattered the weekend peace. When police responded to reports of the shooting in the 4600 block of Washington Avenue, they discovered a young man suffering from several gunshot wounds. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, but his injuries proved to be too severe. The male victim, later identified as 20-year-old Joshawn Palmore, succumbed to his wounds and was pronounced dead.
