Jessie Mitchell, 52, a Black man from New Orleans, Louisiana, died on January 28, 2018, after a burst of gunfire shattered the early-morning quiet on North Robertson Street. Just after midnight, officers were called to the 1400 block of North Robertson, between Kerelec Street and Esplanade Avenue, where they found him lying unresponsive on the ground, struck by multiple gunshot wounds.
