Death by Force

On January 25, 2023, at approximately 4:02 p.m., New Orleans Police Department officers responded to a shooting in the 5300 block of Marais Street in the Lower Ninth Ward. Upon arrival, they discovered 37-year-old Lazaar Alexis suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. Despite prompt medical attention, Alexis succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
