Death by Force

On November 19, 2024, at approximately 4:10 a.m., New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 3200 block of Loyola Avenue in Central City. Upon arrival, they discovered 53-year-old Alvin Hammond suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Emergency Medical Services pronounced him dead at the scene.
