Shanta Renee Matthews, a 33-year-old African American woman, tragically lost her life on February 1, 2018, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Shanta was born on October 29, 1984, in Natchez, Mississippi, and was a dedicated mother to her two daughters, Zamia and Zoey Washington. She was a general manager at Dollar General Store in Baton Rouge and was known for her community involvement, including organizing annual Christmas giveaways and community car-truck shows.
