Sheddrick Jackson, 42, a Black man from Shreveport, Louisiana, was caught in a burst of gunfire on the afternoon of July 29, 2018, when violence erupted near the intersection of Jewella Avenue and Jackson Street. Police were called to the area shortly after 4:30 p.m. on reports of a shooting, and what they found suggested the chaos had unfolded in seconds: an adult and a juvenile wounded by bullets, both rushed away for emergency care.
