Fouad Zeton Jr., a 30-year-old male, passed away on Thursday, August 2, 2018, in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was a funny and personable man, known as the life of any party. He attended St. Francis Xavier, Grace King High School, and later Delgado Community College. Working with his father in the hospitality business, he was a devoted father to his daughter, Aaliyah Zeton.
In the early morning hours, Zeton Jr.
went to the Attiki Bar and Grill on Decatur Street, a place where he used to work, to meet with friends. While at the bar, he got into an argument with James Nero, a 21-year-old friend and former coworker. The disagreement escalated, tragically ending with Zeton Jr. being shot. He was transported to University Medical Center, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
Following the incident, the New Orleans Police Department investigated the 'senseless' shooting. Their investigation led to the arrest of James Nero, who was subsequently charged with murder in connection with Fouad Zeton Jr.'s death. The victim's father, Fouad Zeton Sr., a former professional boxer, expressed his devastation over the loss of his son, stating that an argument between friends should never have led to such a violent end. The case highlighted the tragic consequences of gun violence.
