Eric Joseph Whitaker, a 51-year-old African American male from New Orleans, Louisiana, tragically passed away on January 15, 2022. He was found by officers after sustaining a gunshot wound near the intersection of Saint Roch Avenue and Benefit Street in Gentilly. Despite efforts by EMS to save him, Eric was declared dead at the scene.
