VaShawn Tate, a 30-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on December 17, 2017, in New Orleans, Louisiana. VaShawn, known affectionately by his family and friends as "Brown Peckerwood" and "Bear," was a graduate of John McDonogh Senior High School and worked at Pat O'Brien's Warehouse. He was a beloved father to his daughter Alayah and stepchildren Alshanti, AlShawn, and Alsante.
