On November 2, 2018, six-year-old Jahiem Holliday, an African American boy, was tragically shot and killed in the backyard of a home in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The incident occurred while Jahiem and a 13-year-old boy were playing outside. According to reports, the older boy pointed a gun at Jahiem and fired a shot, resulting in Jahiem's death. The boys were reportedly pretending to film a rap music video when the shooting happened.
