On a late Wednesday afternoon in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, a verbal dispute tragically escalated, ending the life of 42-year-old Vernon Covington. The incident unfolded on December 26, 2018, in the 5200 block of Washington Avenue near Bahm Street. Covington, a Black male, was fatally shot around 4:26 p.m. and succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
