In the early afternoon of April 2, 2025, a verbal dispute in a parking lot on Rosenwald Road in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, escalated to a fatal act of violence that claimed the life of 19-year-old Jayqon Bethley. The young man, a male, was reportedly engaged in an argument with two other individuals when the confrontation took a tragic turn.
As Bethley and a passenger attempted to leave the scene, one of the individuals he had been arguing with opened fire, striking him.
Despite his injuries, Bethley managed to drive himself to a nearby hospital in a desperate attempt to save his own life. Tragically, his efforts were in vain, and he later succumbed to the gunshot wound he sustained.
