In the early morning hours of December 27, 2018, the quiet of a Eunice, Louisiana neighborhood was shattered by a single gunshot. Scott Daville, a 56-year-old male, had stepped outside his home on Juanita Street to investigate a disturbance at approximately 5:30 a.m. He discovered someone burglarizing his pickup truck and, in the ensuing confrontation, was tragically shot once in the torso.
