Yareielle Pittman, a 17-year-old African American girl, tragically lost her life on June 22, 2019, in New Orleans, Louisiana. The incident occurred around 2 a.m. on Chef Menteur Highway near Knight Drive. According to the New Orleans Police Department, officers arrived at the scene to find Yareielle with multiple gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene. A man, who was also present in a pickup truck, sustained a gunshot wound and was taken to the hospital in stable condition.
