On July 17, 2023, at approximately 4:39 a.m., New Orleans Police Department officers responded to reports of a shooting at the intersection of Chef Menteur Highway and Lonely Oak Drive. Upon arrival, they discovered 29-year-old Precious Gray inside a vehicle, having suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency Medical Services pronounced her dead at the scene.
