On a warm evening in New Orleans East, the life of 33-year-old Patrick Lamar was tragically cut short. On Saturday, August 10, 2019, Lamar was discovered in the driver's seat of a Nissan sedan, parked in a driveway in the 7200 block of Bunker Hill Road, suffering from a fatal gunshot wound. The New Orleans Police Department responded to the scene, where they found a grim tableau. Inside the vehicle and on Lamar's body, detectives recovered several spent.
40 caliber casings, clear evidence of the violent encounter that had taken place. Additional nine-millimeter casings were found in the street and in front of the car, suggesting a chaotic and desperate scene.
The subsequent investigation into the homicide led authorities to a suspect, Demeccio Caston. Surveillance footage from the night of the murder played a crucial role in the case, capturing a male individual in a short-sleeved shirt and shorts walking along the sidewalk in the area.
