Aurelius Burfict, a 57-year-old African American man with autism, was shot and killed on August 12, 2019, in Reserve, Louisiana. The incident occurred around 1 a.m. when Burfict was walking down East 21st Street. A car approached him from behind, and an unknown assailant opened fire, hitting Burfict multiple times.
