In the late hours of a July night in Reserve, Louisiana, a grim discovery was made that would unravel a story of a targeted and fatal attack. Twenty-year-old Kyron Perrilloux, a male from the area, was found deceased alongside his 18-year-old cousin, Kerell Sanders. The two were discovered inside a vehicle that had crashed into a ditch just after midnight on July 30, 2019.
It was immediately apparent that this was no ordinary car accident; both young men had been shot.
The local sheriff quickly dispelled any notion that this was a random act of violence, stating that the cousins were 'stalked and they were hunted down.' This assertion painted a chilling picture of the final moments of Perrilloux and Sanders. The St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff's Office launched an intensive investigation into what they were calling a double homicide. Detectives turned to technology to piece together the events of that night, meticulously reviewing footage from crime cameras in the vicinity of the shooting.
The breakthrough in the case came swiftly. Investigators identified a pickup truck believed to have been involved in the drive-by shooting. This evidence led them to their first suspect, 25-year-old Theron J. Williams of New Orleans, who was apprehended within days of the incident. Shortly after, the second suspect, 31-year-old Kelvin Timothy Taylor of LaPlace, surrendered to authorities, accompanied by his attorney. Both Williams and Taylor were subsequently charged with two counts of second-degree murder. The investigation didn't stop there. A third man, 52-year-old Craig A. Lee Sr. of Norco, was later arrested and charged with accessory after the fact to second-degree murder, with authorities believing he had knowledge of the killings and attempted to hinder the investigation.
