Gervonte Taplin, a 17-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on December 24, 2019, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Gervonte was a senior at Broadmoor High School and a promising football player. He had aspirations to attend Southeastern Louisiana University. On the morning of Christmas Eve, an intruder entered his home on Turret Drive and shot Gervonte.
