On New Year's Day in 2020, a fatal shooting in Uptown New Orleans claimed the life of 45-year-old Chris “Boogie” McCann. The incident occurred in the 3400 block of South Claiborne Street. McCann, identified as a convicted member of the '3NG' gang, was found shot shortly after 5:30 p.m.

The investigation into McCann's death led authorities to Jermal Williams, then 27 years old. Surveillance footage from the day of the shooting showed Williams' car at the crime scene. A significant brea ...
