In the spring of 2021, the life of 14-year-old Joel Nichols, an African American male, was tragically cut short in New Orleans, Louisiana. On the evening of April 19th, at approximately 7:35 p.m., the vibrant streets at the corner of Washington Avenue and LaSalle Street became a scene of violence. Officers responding to a call discovered the young teenager with a gunshot wound.
