Joel Nichols, a 14-year-old African American boy, tragically lost his life on April 19, 2021, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Joel was found with multiple gunshot wounds in the 2700 block of La Salle Street, near the A.L. Davis playground. Despite efforts to save him, he succumbed to his injuries at University Hospital the following day.
