In the early morning hours of January 17, 2020, Sheniquel Sade O'Neal, a 29-year-old female, was found deceased in her vehicle on Interstate 220 near Airline Drive in Bossier City, Louisiana. An investigation revealed that she had been fatally shot. Her vehicle had crashed as a result of the incident. The case was initially the only unsolved homicide in Bossier City for that year.
After an investigation that spanned over a year, detectives from the Bossier City Police Department made
arrests in connection with O'Neal's death. The investigation linked her murder to another shooting that occurred on January 30, 2020, where a young girl was injured. Authorities believe the motive for both crimes was an ongoing feud related to illegal drugs.
Three suspects were arrested and charged in O'Neal's murder. Roger Hicks was charged with first-degree murder in her death, as well as attempted first-degree murder in the subsequent shooting. Aaron Simmons was also charged with first-degree murder. A third individual, Tamara Green, faced charges of accessory after the fact to first-degree murder and failure to report certain felonies for her involvement.
