On April 20, 2020, Dequan Riley, a 22-year-old African American male from Donaldsonville, Louisiana, was tragically shot and killed. The incident occurred shortly after 5:30 p.m. near the intersection of West Tenth Street and Orange Street in Donaldsonville. Riley was found lying deceased in the roadway, having been shot in the left cheek, run over, and dragged approximately 100 yards through the streets.
