In the quiet town of Olar, South Carolina, the evening of January 31, 2023, was shattered by violence that claimed the life of 20-year-old Savion Jarrell Williams. A Black male, Williams was discovered fatally shot inside a pickup truck on 5th Street shortly after 9:00 p.m. when authorities responded to reports of a shooting. The Bamberg County Coroner later confirmed that a gunshot wound was the cause of his death.
