In the quiet town of Camden, South Carolina, the life of a young man, Travis Zidel Jiles, a 22-year-old Black male, was abruptly cut short on the evening of Sunday, September 27, 2020. Around 7:41 p.m., officers were called to the 2200 block of Carlos Street, where they found Jiles lying in the street. He had sustained a single gunshot wound to his upper body and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Kershaw County Coroner.
