In the late hours of a Monday night in Donaldsonville, Louisiana, the life of 35-year-old Brandon Turner was tragically cut short. On October 19, 2020, Turner was inside a vehicle traveling along LA 70 when gunfire erupted in a fatal drive-by shooting. He sustained a gunshot wound and succumbed to his injuries at the scene. A passenger in the vehicle was also wounded in the attack but survived with non-life-threatening injuries after being transported to a nearby hospital.
The Ascension
Parish Sheriff's Office immediately began an investigation into the double shooting. Their efforts led to the identification and subsequent arrest of three suspects in the weeks that followed. Investigators apprehended 22-year-old Mark Johnson and 21-year-old Trae Muse. The third suspect, 21-year-old Jacoby Green, was arrested in late November of the same year.
All three men faced a litany of serious charges for their alleged involvement in the incident that ended Brandon Turner's life. The charges brought against Green, Johnson, and Muse included second-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, illegal use of a weapon, aggravated criminal damage to property, assault by drive-by shooting, and aggravated second-degree battery.
