In the early morning hours of an August day in Houma, Louisiana, a dispute between acquaintances escalated into a fatal encounter. Thirty-three-year-old Henry Issac Boyd, a male resident of Houma, was involved in an altercation with a woman at the Renada Lakes Apartments. The disagreement turned violent, and Boyd sustained a gunshot wound.
Following the shooting, the woman he had been with, Victoria Garrick, drove him to a local hospital.
However, she did not remain at the facility, leaving shortly after his arrival. Boyd ultimately succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. The Houma Police Department launched an investigation into the incident, quickly identifying Garrick as the primary suspect.
Later that same day, officers located Garrick's vehicle on Bryant Street.
