The search came to a grim end on November 13, 2020, when Beauchamp's body was found in the backyard of a home on Harper's Ferry Avenue. His body was discovered wedged between a fence and a small shed, a location approximately a block away from where a violent encounter had reportedly taken place nearly two weeks prior. This discovery shifted the focus of the investigation from a missing person case to a potential homicide, centering on an incident that had occurred around the time of Beauchamp's disappearance.
Investigators had already made an arrest in connection with Beauchamp's case before his body was found. Eighteen-year-old Dayne Amman was taken into custody and charged with attempted murder and illegal use of a weapon. According to the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office, Amman had fired a rifle at Beauchamp on or around November 1, after allegedly spotting him on his property on Cold Harbor Avenue. At the time of the initial report, deputies who responded to the scene of the gunfire did not find Beauchamp or any evidence to suggest he had been struck by the bullet.
