Glenda Gail Furch, a 51-year-old woman, was last seen on the night of September 28, 2007, after leaving her job at the General Motors assembly plant in Arlington, Texas. She was reported missing when family members couldn't reach her, and her apartment in Fort Worth showed signs of foul play. Blood evidence and cleaning supplies found in her apartment suggested a violent struggle, and items such as bedding and a vacuum cleaner were missing.
Days later, her car, a 1998 Mazda Millenia, was discovered burned at an abandoned car wash in Dallas.
In November 2007, police arrested Rodney Eugene Owens, a former neighbor, and charged him with Furch's murder. Owens had a history of criminal activity and was linked to the case through DNA, fingerprints, and evidence found in a nearby dumpster. He was convicted of her murder in 2008, although her body has never been recovered. Despite the lack of a body, the evidence was enough to secure a life sentence for Owens.
