In the small community of St. Francisville, Louisiana, a verbal altercation tragically escalated, leading to the death of 17-year-old Nicholas Darin Mack on November 27, 2020. An African American male, Nicholas was a resident of St. Francisville and was looking forward to his high school graduation in May 2021 with plans to attend college.
The fatal encounter occurred at an apartment complex in the Hardwood community. According to the West Feliciana Sheriff's Office, Nicholas approached 19-year-old Bri'Darrius Bailey, also of St. Francisville, on Street D. Witnesses reported that the two engaged in an argument that quickly turned violent. The dispute culminated in a shooting, and when deputies arrived at the scene, Nicholas was pronounced dead.
Following an investigation into the shooting, Bri'Darrius Bailey was arrested and subsequently charged with second-degree murder and illegal use of a weapon in connection with the death of Nicholas Mack. The community was left to mourn the sudden and tragic loss of a young man on the cusp of his future.
