In the late hours of December 3, 2020, the life of 25-year-old Diquan Johnson, a Black/African American male from Houma, Louisiana, was tragically cut short. The evening found Johnson at the Club Nu Vision, a nightclub located at the intersection of Canal and Honduras streets in his hometown. It was there that a violent shooting erupted, resulting in his death inside the establishment.
The Houma Police Department responded to the scene of the shooting at approximately 8:00 p.m.
to find Johnson deceased. He was not the only victim of the gunfire that night. Another man, identified as 38-year-old Hassan Clayton, also from Houma, sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Clayton was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment but ultimately succumbed to his injuries. At the time, this incident marked the third fatal shooting in Houma within a single month.
Despite the ongoing efforts of the Houma Police Department to investigate the double homicide by interviewing witnesses and collecting evidence, no arrests have been publicly announced in connection with the deaths of Diquan Johnson and Hassan Clayton. The case has remained open as authorities have continued to seek information from the public to help identify any person or persons responsible for the shooting. The motive behind the deadly incident has not been released.
Diquan, who was known to friends and family as "Quan Jack," was a native of Terrebonne Parish. His passing left behind a grieving family, including his parents and several children.
