La’Mello Parker, a three-month-old African American baby boy, tragically lost his life on May 3, 2021, in a shootout involving police in Biloxi, Mississippi. His father, Eric Derell Smith, 30, was also killed during the incident. The events leading up to La’Mello's death began when Smith allegedly killed his ex-girlfriend Christin Parker, 32, and her nephew Brandon Parker, 26, in East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana. Following these murders, Smith kidnapped La’Mello and fled to Mississippi.
