In the late spring of 2021, a bright-spirited 12-year-old girl named Todriana Mawnsey Peters, known affectionately as 'Mawnsey,' found her life tragically cut short. On the evening of May 30th, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Todriana was attending a graduation party in the Lower 9th Ward with a relative. She had briefly stepped away from the celebration to sit in a car and charge her cell phone, a simple act that placed her in the path of unexpected violence.
