On the evening of September 6, 2014, the life of 28-year-old Shantel McCormick of Surprise, Arizona, was tragically cut short in a devastating act of violence. McCormick, a female, was a passenger in a vehicle traveling eastbound on the Loop 101 freeway in Glendale. At approximately 7:30 p.m., an off-duty firefighter witnessed the car suddenly veer off the highway and crash into the desert landscape near 51st Avenue.
