In the summer of 2021, a burst of gunfire shattered the peace of a Shreveport neighborhood, leaving a family grieving and a community searching for answers. On the evening of June 13th, 47-year-old Lemon Harvey III, a Black male, was at his home in the 3000 block of Bibb Street when he was tragically shot. The quiet street was suddenly alive with the sounds of sirens as emergency services rushed to the scene.
Harvey was quickly transported to Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport, but despite the efforts of medical staff, he succumbed to his injuries.
The days that followed were filled with sorrow and a burgeoning investigation. The Caddo Parish Coroner's Office confirmed Harvey's identity through fingerprint comparison and ordered an autopsy to officially determine the cause of his death.
