In the summer of 2021, the life of 20-year-old Giovontay Punch was tragically cut short in Shreveport, Louisiana. On the evening of Tuesday, June 22, 2021, Punch was fatally wounded by gunfire in the Mooretown neighborhood. The shooting occurred near Hollywood Avenue, leaving a family and community to grapple with the sudden and violent loss.
